How to self-exclude from bet365 in the US
bet365 is one of the few big sportsbooks in the US that lets you self-exclude indefinitely right from your account in most states. If you have it on your phone, that's the option to pick.
The short version
- Path: Account menu, then Gaming Controls, then Self-Exclusion.
- In most states the terms are 6 months, 1, 2 or 5 years, or indefinitely. Pick indefinitely.
- Your account can never be reopened, and bet365 says it will try to stop new accounts too.
- You can still log in to withdraw what's left in most states.
- New Jersey and Pennsylvania are different. bet365 sends you into the state program, which covers every licensed operator there.
How to self-exclude
Log in and open the Account menu
Then tap Gaming Controls.
Tap Self-Exclusion
Read the screen. It tells you what your state allows.
Choose indefinitely
bet365's state pages for Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia list 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years or indefinitely. Take indefinitely.
Withdraw what's left
bet365 says you can still log in during the exclusion to withdraw your remaining balance. Do it, then delete the app.
There's no room for gambling in our lives going forward. Even after a few years of cooling off, the addiction comes back and we end up gambling the same way again. We never get back to doing it just for fun. We always take it too far.

New Jersey
In New Jersey, the same Gaming Controls, Self-Exclusion path submits you to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement's program. Online you can choose 1 or 5 years. bet365 says a permanent exclusion needs an appointment, in person or by video, which you book by calling 1-833-788-4DGE. The DGE list covers every New Jersey licensee, not just bet365. You'll need your Social Security number to enroll online.
bet365 says a withdrawal is raised for you automatically, the account can't be reopened, and when the term ends you have to go to a DGE office to reactivate. Book the permanent appointment.

Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, bet365 uses the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's program. The terms are 1 year, 5 years or permanently, and it covers bet365 and every licensee operating in Pennsylvania. You can also enroll at a PGCB office. Choose permanently.

Ohio and Colorado have state lists too
bet365's Ohio page also points you to the Ohio Voluntary Exclusion Program at Time Out Ohio. In Colorado, the state runs its own program as well. Do both: the indefinite bet365 exclusion, and your state list. Your state page has the official link.
Then lock the other doors
- Exclude from every other app you've used. One lock is not enough if another door is open. Start with DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and Caesars.
- Enroll in your state's program, at lifetime if it's offered.
- Delete the app and block it with BetBlocker or Gamban, and turn on gambling blocks at your bank.
Common questions
Can I reopen my bet365 account after self-exclusion?
No. bet365's US pages say it won't be possible to reopen your account for any reason, and it will try to block new ones.
Can I withdraw money during a bet365 self-exclusion?
In most states, yes. bet365 says you can still log in to withdraw your remaining balance. In New Jersey a withdrawal is raised for you automatically.
What is the longest bet365 self-exclusion?
Indefinitely, in states like Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio and Virginia. In Pennsylvania it's permanently through the state. In New Jersey, permanent needs a DGE appointment.
What's the difference between a bet365 Time-Out and Self-Exclusion?
A Time-Out is a short break. Self-Exclusion is the lock, and at bet365 the account never comes back. If you're asking, choose self-exclusion.
