How to block gambling on iPhone (Screen Time)

Last checked October 16, 2026 against official help pages. Apps change, so if a button has moved, the official page wins.

Screen Time is built into every iPhone. It won't catch everything on its own, but it is free and you can set it up in ten minutes. It works best with a blocker app on top.

  1. Step 1: Turn on restrictions

Open Settings, tap Screen Time, then Content & Privacy Restrictions, and turn it on.

  2. Step 2: Block betting websites

Tap App Store, Media, Web, & Games, then Web Content. Choose Limit Adult Websites, then under Never Allow tap Add Website. Add each sportsbook or casino site you have used.

  3. Step 3: Stop new app downloads

Back in Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap iTunes & App Store Purchases and set Installing Apps to Don't Allow, or lower the app age rating so adult-rated betting apps can't be installed.

  4. Step 4: Delete the apps you have

Press and hold each betting app on your Home Screen and remove it.

  5. Step 5: Hand off the passcode

Set a Screen Time passcode and let someone you trust type it in, so you don't know it.

Good to know

  • Apple's current Screen Time guide is for iOS 27, and some labels may look a little different on your phone.
  • Add Gamban or BetBlocker for a much bigger blocklist.
  • Turn off notifications and emails from any betting app before you delete it.
